Want to hear more about what Communities of Grace is doing to impact the lives of those in East Africa?
Life, Health, and the Peace of the Gospel
Communities of Grace International, formerly known as Build the Village, establishes village hubs built around a local community church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With the church as the center of the community, Communities of Grace partners with the Christian Community Church of Kenya to institute programs and facilities that support the physical and spiritual lives of the people of East Africa. From healthcare facilities to community schools to orphan rescues – Communities of Grace helps to meet the physical needs of those in need, while also sharing the life-giving message of the gospel.
Numerous mission teams are sent from the U.S. each year to various East African countries
We have sent hundreds of volunteers to serve in African villages
We help establish new congregations from the refugee camps of North Kenya to the remote parts of Uganda
We faciliate weekly discipleship programs taught by indigenous pastors, along with various programs in the colleges, universities and prisons in Western Kenya
Establishing churches that proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a physical and spiritual hub of the community
Evangelism and Discipleship
Theological education, ministry training, prison ministry, are a few ways in which we share the gospel of Jesus and provide ongoing discipleship opportunities and support
Whether it’s orphan care, healthcare, hygiene education, or agricultural assistance, we believe in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of an individual
We build people… and places. We provide construction support and materials to create safe, secure places for the community to gather and grow
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Making Disciples, Training Future Pastors and Church Leaders, Providing Libraries and Other Resources
Started in 2004 as Build the Village, Communities of Grace International has impacted the lives of thousands of individuals. Our mission is to glorify Jesus Christ and make Him known by being the hands, feet and heart of Jesus in villages and communities across East Africa. We accomplish this mission in four key ways: Evangelism & Discipleship, Community Building, Church Planting, and Humanitarian Efforts. Communities of Grace International partners with U.S. churches and mission groups to arrange short-term mission trips to assist our local partners who are on-the-ground in Africa.
Our most important role is helping others proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have been blessed to see thousands of individuals come to know and trust in Jesus thanks to the blessings of God through our evangelism efforts. Communities of Grace goes a step further in providing ongoing discipleship support by providing Bible resources and studies to train individuals to serve as ministers and elders within their local church.
With that said, we understand that we can most effectively proclaim the gospel by also addressing the very real physical needs that face our brothers and sisters in Africa. We are actively identifying opportunities to reach out to the orphaned and widowed, those who are suffering from childhood diseases, and those ravaged by war and AIDS.
We understand the needs are great, but we trust our God is greater.
