COGI Newsletter 20 June 2023

The months of May and June have been a whirlwind. With that said, we would like to share some of the highlights from the last month. We hope this update will be a blessing to you.

Prison Outreach

Weekly discipleship continues in many of the prisons in Western Kenya. Studies in our Growing in Grace program are very well received and continue to encourage fruit in the lives of the prisoners. We are excited to see the Holy Spirit working in their lives.

We thank God for the abundant privilege we have in weekly evangelistic opportunities in Uganda. The many salvations and the incredible number of inmates attending our discipleship programs encourage us to continue and remind us of God’s abounding grace. Just two weeks ago, two Muslim inmates turned to Jesus Christ! At the end of the service, the two men asked Pastor Moses to go and take the gospel to their families. Pray for Pastor Moses as he will meet with one of the families on June 26th.

Student MInistry

Programs are growing in the colleges and universities with weekly discipleship. Please pray for the development of many spiritual leaders from among these students. We believe that God is able, so we ask!

Exciting New Opportunities

We are happy with the growth of a new church plant in Uganda. The congregation is growing and taking advantage of the discipleship programs.

In Bungoma , Kenya the new church project started last year is now complete. They hosted their first discipleship program this month. This location will be perfect for reaching this community for Christ.

In Kapsabet, Kenya, we are assisting the Protestant church at the prison with building a new church facility on prison grounds.

What a joy that was to be a part of these conferences!

Women's Prison Ministry

John 13:12-17

(12) When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. (13) “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. (14) Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. (15) I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. (16) Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. (17) Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

During our time at the women’s prison, we had the fun time of washing the prisoner’s feet and also doing some nail polishing!

Noel Academy

Noel Academy has been greatly enjoying the new van since our last update!

Discipleship Program Graduates

The students have been working diligently for 3 years with our discipleship program and are receiving a John MacArthur study Bible after graduation! This class included 40 students who will be dispatched throughout Kenya for their work assignments.

New Church Updates

The roofing for the new church is nearing completion!
